Gift of Being There

Think of the happiest moment you remember experiencing in your life—feeling not merely satisfied or delighted but joyful from your heart outward. That exquisite joy is what I wish for you this year—many moments of the kind of joy that makes your heart beat fast and your mouth insist on smiling or laughing. You suddenly feel glad to be alive and wonder if you’re actually shining. If you can share those moments, they feel nearly overwhelming. We’re designed to share. Suzanne Giesemann refers to what some call the Source as Joy.

Animals seem to understand joy. They celebrate any time love blooms around them, often dancing or embracing or singing their songs. They give without occasions that demand it. Many express love beyond their species.

Special moments built on things soon lose their luster as the things pile up into possessions. But who has too much love—not lust or ownership or obligation, but love? Love is a condition of being, the ultimate power of living. Love hugs you with the belief that you resonate with others. You matter not as a function but an essence. You’re part of the symphony of life, playing your own special part in the harmony.

Thank you for the love you’ve shared this year.  The world sorely needs to see its priorities reflected. We all need to share kind words, thoughts, and deeds. I thank you for including my humble opinions in the choices you made. You matter to me.
